Frollicking into Gaming Swagger: Zotac Flips April Fool's Prank into a Reality

Gaming hardware powerhouse Zotac, renowned for its graphics cards, mini-PCs, and gaming handheld consoles, has plunged into an unexpected venture by introducing an all-new product line tailored for enthusiastic gamers. In a playful twist, the company is stepping into the realm of fragrances with the launch of the F5 Esports Perfume, specifically designed to maintain the gaming odorswind off and bolster gamers in their intensive sessions.

Initially, this fragrance stunt was unveiled through an April Fool's post on Zotac's news page earlier this year. The joke revolved around the fragrance employing a "proprietary blend of caffeine, taurine, and other top-secret elements"[3]. The scent was described as a medley of sea breeze, cypress, mint, and white musk, offering an aquatic and woody odor. Although the info on the page's authenticity remains unclear, one of Tom's Hardware's colleagues managed to snag a bottle during Computex 2025. They reported that the fragrance exhibited a delightful fragrance, fitting for all sorts of individuals.

The F5 bottle boasts that it's Eau de Parfum, estimated to last approximately four to six hours. The initial whiff lingers for around 30 minutes, followed by the heart or middle notes enduring for an additional half hour. The base notes linger the longest, though our experience suggests the scent lingers for just a couple of hours, at best[4].

The gaming industry isn't a stranger to fragrant accessories. Asus, for instance, made headlines last year with a laptop outfitted with a fragrance dispenser, appealing to fashion-forward laptop users[5]. They then broadened their fragrant lineup by introducing an aromatic wireless mouse, keeping both hands and workstations smelling delightful. If you're a gaming aficionado yearning for something scented coming from your GPU instead of the typical melted plastic stench, you have the option to select some of Yeston's Radeon RTX 9070 XT models, embellished with a fragrance module within their shroud.

HKEPC reports that the F5 Perfume is currently in open testing, and applications need to be submitted by June 13 to trial this intriguing gaming accessory. Here's hoping that this beta test is a resounding success, and Zotac decides to release this product on a permanent basis. After all, we're eager to explore the other fragrances listed on their page, such as Ctrl+Alt+Scent, Critical Hit, and GG.
