Virbac, a global leader in animal health, has unveiled Vikaly, a groundbreaking medicated cat food in Europe. This innovative product marks a new regulatory category and aims to improve the lives of cats with chronic diseases and their owners.
Vikaly was first conceptualized over 15 years ago with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for cats suffering from chronic conditions. The product is produced in a factory approved for medicated feed manufacture, ensuring high standards of safety and quality.
The manufacturing process employs advanced spraying technology, uniformly coating each kibble with the active ingredient. This innovative approach allows for precise and consistent dosing, making it easier for owners to administer medication to their pets.
Vikaly is the world's first medicated feed for cats that combines renal kibble with a veterinary drug subject to marketing authorization. It inaugurates a new regulatory category in Europe, following the requirements of European Regulation 2019/4.
