VinFast Launches Affordable Electric SUVs in India, Prioritizing Tech Over Price
VinFast has launched two affordable electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, in India. These vehicles aim to transform the perception of EVs from eco-friendly gadgets to everyday companions, prioritising technology and features over fuel costs.
Indian buyers are increasingly valuing quality and features over price, with 72 percent open to switching brands and 62 percent ranking these aspects above price. The VF 6 and VF 7 cater to these preferences, offering certified ranges of up to 468 km and 532 km respectively, with a quick charge time of around 25 minutes.
The SUVs come packed with extensive safety features and advanced connectivity, reflecting the growing importance of the in-car experience for Indian buyers. This shift is evident in the increasing sales of electric cars, which made up 2.5 percent of passenger vehicle sales in 2024 and grew by 53 percent in the first half of 2025. A man in Delhi even changed his opinion about electric cars after experiencing a new SUV with advanced features.
VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7 are poised to capitalise on the growing demand for tech-rich, feature-packed electric SUVs in India. With their long ranges and advanced in-car experiences, they aim to turn EVs into everyday companions for Indian buyers.
