New 2025 Ram Heavy Duty Pickup Truck Arrives with Enhancements

The much-anticipated 2025 Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck is set to hit dealerships in the first quarter of this year, promising a series of updates and improvements.

The new model retains its robust towing capacity, able to pull up to 36,610 pounds, a slight decrease from the previous model's 37,090 pounds. The gasoline engine offers a maximum payload capacity of 7,590 pounds, a decrease from the 2024 model's 7,680 pounds.

Ram has given the Heavy Duty a fresh look, with split headlights and revised grilles featuring different designs for each trim level. The lineup includes the Tradesman, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited Longhorn, and Limited models.

Inside, the 2025 Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck receives tech updates similar to the 2025 Ram 1500, including an available 14.5-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen with split-screen capability. Passengers can also enjoy a 10.3-inch touchscreen as an option.

The interior also features an onboard inverter that can be activated via the touchscreen or a switch located to the left of the outlets. This inverter automatically adjusts engine rpm to provide the necessary power while the vehicle is in park. The pickup truck can send up to 2.4 kw of electricity through dual outlets in the bed.

The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck offers both gasoline and diesel engine options. The gasoline 6.4-liter V-8 produces 405 hp, a 5-hp drop from the previous model, but maintains the same 429 lb-ft of torque. The new diesel engine produces 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque, a 10-hp increase from the previous high-output diesel, but torque remains unchanged.

Both engines are coupled to an updated 8-speed automatic transmission that enables a 3.42:1 rear-axle ratio. The diesel engine has undergone significant redesign, with changes to the block, head, intake manifold, and turbocharger, along with a higher-pressure fuel system.

The Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck adopts the Ram 1500's automated trailer-reversing system and includes features like dual wireless device chargers, a digital rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warnings, traffic sign recognition, and a driver attention monitor.

The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck costs $47,560 for the 2500 model and $48,565 for the 3500 model (both prices include destination). The automobile brand responsible for the Ram HD model, which was refreshed in 2025 and is manufactured in Mexico, is Ram, part of Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles).
