Updated Features for Spring 2021 in Plan My Walk Application
Plan My Walk, the popular outdoor adventure planning platform, has announced a series of new updates designed to enhance user experience and provide more comprehensive information for multi-day trips.
Starting with the website update, which is now live at www.planmywalk.nz, users can now enjoy a sleek new design and a host of additional features. These include the ability to assign custom trip names, save tracks in a personalised My Wishlist, access FAQs and support through Help & Feedback, customise profile settings, and manage past, upcoming, or draft trip plans in the My Walks section.
For those who enjoy sharing their outdoor experiences, the new features also allow users to share their trip plans, with an email notification and a dedicated 'My Walks' section for easy access. Moreover, users can now download their trip plans as PDFs for offline use.
In terms of content, approximately 100 new tracks from the Greater Wellington and Auckland regions will be added over the next few weeks, along with seven new videos from the Tramping Video Series. These videos will be available on corresponding Plan My Walk track pages.
Safety has always been a priority for Plan My Walk, and the latest updates reflect this commitment. Road Snowfall warnings have been added to the alerts, and MetService New Zealand mountain weather hazards have been integrated to provide users with up-to-date information on weather conditions.
User feedback is crucial in shaping future development, and Plan My Walk encourages users to share their thoughts and suggestions. For any assets or support, users can contact Design@our website.
As for the Plan My Walk apps for Apple iOS and Android, the updates are currently underway and are expected to be available shortly. However, there are no publicly available specific planned release dates for these updates at this time.
Finally, users can now add hut and campsite reviews, with a maximum of three photos per review (admin approval required before display). This feature allows for a more detailed and personalised review of outdoor accommodation options.
With these new features, Plan My Walk continues to be a valuable tool for outdoor enthusiasts, providing a platform for planning, sharing, and enjoying New Zealand's stunning landscapes.
