Brainstorming with the letter 'B' in mind led me to BRAIN. That narrowed it down to 302 remaining possibilities, which STEAL eventually sliced in half. OCTAL was my third attempt, but it didn't earn me a win.
I missed my chance for a miracle win by not trusting my initial instincts with the letter 'T,' which I almost picked for my third guess. Oh well, better luck next time!
Competitive Wordle ranking
I scored 0 points for guessing in four attempts, and -1 point for falling short to Wordle Bot, which cracked the code in three today.
New to Competitive Wordle?
- Guessing in 1 round earns 3 points; guessing in 2 rounds earns 2 points; guessing in 3 rounds earns 1 point; guessing in 4 rounds earns 0 points; guessing in 5 rounds earns -1 point; guessing in 6 rounds leads to -2 points, and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
- Winning against an opponent gives 1 point, whereas if you tie, you earn 0 points. You lose to your opponent if you fall short, resulting in -1 point. Your total points can be summed up for a daily or ongoing score.
- Fridays bring double points, so your score can be amplified or reduced by 2XP.
Wordle etymology
The word "total" comes from the Latin term "tōtus," meaning "whole" or "entire." This developed into Late Latin "totalis," which referred to something complete or entire. From there, it entered Old French as "total," and later made its way into Middle English in the 14th century, retaining its core meaning.
