Unintended disclosure of Meta's upcoming smart glasses featuring a display prior to the scheduled Connect event.
Meta, the tech giant, is set to reveal its latest innovation in the wearable devices market at its annual Connect keynote on September 17 (5:30 AM IST on September 18). The event, hosted by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, promises to be an exciting one, with the company set to unveil new Ray-Ban branded smart glasses and a pair of Oakley-style wraparound glasses called Sphaera.
The leaked video of the Ray-Ban smart glasses has already generated a buzz. The glasses, named Meta Ray-Ban Display, feature a small display built into the right lens. They are designed to function as practical smart eyewear, allowing users to ask Meta AI questions, check maps, translate text, and write messages using hand gestures. To enable these features, the glasses will be paired with a special wristband.
The Sphaera glasses, on the other hand, have a camera mounted on the nose bridge. It's unclear what other features the Oakley Sphaera smart glasses might include, but they are expected to be a significant step in making smart eyewear practical.
Meta's focus on AI and augmented reality integration with everyday products is evident in these new smart glasses. The company is expanding its wearable devices portfolio, aiming to revolutionise the way we interact with technology.
In other news, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is set to receive a Rs 12,000 discount during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale 2025. The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE India price has been announced, making it an attractive option for those looking for a high-performance smartphone.
However, the leak of the video could potentially diminish some of the surprise from Meta's big event this week. Despite this, it seems almost certain that these smart glasses will be a highlight of the show.
