Tesla Expands Live Activities to Mobile Service Appointments
Tesla has extended its Live Activities feature on iPhones to cover mobile service appointments from T-Mobile. Owners can now monitor their service visit's progress at a glance, without unlocking their phones. Initially introduced earlier this year for Supercharging, Live Activities allows Tesla owners to view charging progress directly from their iOS Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. Now, Tesla has expanded this feature to mobile service visits from T-Mobile. The new Service Live Activity provides real-time updates, including the technician's estimated time of arrival, progress during the service, and confirmation upon completion. This expansion is currently limited to mobile technician visits from T-Mobile, not longer service center appointments. While the responsibility and timeline for expanding Live Activities to other features like Roadside Assistance and cabin preconditioning are unclear, Tesla could potentially extend this functionality in the future. Meanwhile, Google is set to introduce a similar system called Live Updates with Android 16, which Tesla is likely to adopt, further enhancing user experience. Tesla's expansion of Live Activities to mobile service visits from T-Mobile offers owners real-time updates and convenience. With potential future enhancements and Google's upcoming Live Updates, Tesla continues to improve its mobile service experience.
