Sumitomo Mitsui to Takeover CCC MK, Rename to V Point Marketing in 2026
CCC MK, currently owned by Culture Convenience Club Co., is set for a significant change. Sumitomo Mitsui Card and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial will increase their stakes, leading to a takeover and renaming of the company to V Point Marketing. The deal is scheduled for March 2026.
The takeover will see Sumitomo Mitsui Card raise its stake to 55%, with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial following at 25%. This places CCC MK under the Sumitomo Mitsui group's umbrella. The companies aim to integrate their loyalty point apps as early as fiscal 2026, combining CCC MK's 'V Point' program with Sumitomo Mitsui Card's services. This integration seeks to reduce management costs and expand services.
Sumitomo Mitsui Card's vision extends beyond the merger. It plans to combine the V Point program with the Sumitomo Mitsui group's 'Olive' app, creating a comprehensive financial services platform.
In March 2026, Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co. will acquire CCC MK Holdings Co., operator of the 'V Point' loyalty program. The takeover will see CCC MK renamed to V Point Marketing and integrated into the Sumitomo Mitsui group. The merged loyalty programs aim to provide comprehensive financial services through the 'Olive' app.
