Streaming service Tubi introduces 'Productubity' features, enabling users to covertedly watch content during work hours.

In an effort to cater to the growing number of employees returning to the office, streaming platform Tubi has launched a new Chrome extension called Productubity. This innovative feature is designed to help users stream movies and TV shows covertly while at work, ensuring their entertainment time remains undiscovered by bosses and coworkers.

The launch of Productubity is inspired by data from Tubi's proprietary study, The Stream 2025: Audience Insights Shaping Streaming. Conducted within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Tubi, the survey reveals that 38% of viewers stream at their job site, with this figure rising significantly among Gen Z workers. A staggering 84% of Gen Z workers report watching TV or movies while working, and an equally impressive half admit to lying to their bosses about streaming while working.

Deirdre Hesseldieck, senior vice president of viewer product at Tubi, stated that Productubity is a "cheeky nod" to fans who multitask by sneaking in streams between work tasks. She further explained that Productubity is intended to help fans "reclaim their time and their tabs."

Productubity allows users to toggle from Tubi to a fictitious work screen with a single click, keeping their streaming activity hidden from prying eyes. When a supervisor is nearby, a simple toggle of the Productubity icon will switch the screen to a faux article about increasing productivity. When the coast is clear, users can toggle back to the "content" without missing any part of the stream.

The Productubity extension is now available for download from the Chrome Web Store. For more information about Productubity, visit the provided link. With Productubity, Tubi users can stream their favourite shows and movies without compromising their professional image.
