Nestled on the 22nd floor of the AC and Element Hotel, Rosa Sky offers a unique blend of serene ambience, panoramic views, exotic tapas, hand-crafted cocktails, and live DJs. The area's population is largely concentrated in high-end luxury condominium apartments, making it crucial for Rosa Sky to maintain a vibrant atmosphere while minimising noise disruption.
To achieve this balance, Alan Roth of The Restaurant People, the minds behind Rosa Sky, reached out to Miami-based 305AV for a sound system solution. The system installed at Rosa Sky is powered by DAS Audio, with the focus centred around 16 Quantum Series Q-23-T two-way full-range systems. Eight Q-10 ultracompact 10-inch subwoofers provide low end coverage, while a pair of DECO-6-TB two-way ceiling speakers offer spot coverage.
The entire system is powered by EP amplifiers from the E11EVEN Sound by DAS Audio series, ensuring high-quality sound throughout the venue. This setup has been designed to focus the sound on seating areas and minimise spillage that would disturb neighbouring buildings.
Randy White of Washington Music Center provided the system for Rosa Sky, with 305AV installing it in consultation with DAS Audio. John Fiorito, DAS Audio hospitality and nightclub national sales manager, observed that the Q-23-T is ideal for this application due to its short-range coverage and emphasis on vocal clarity.
The system at Rosa Sky delivers everything Roth aimed for – amazing sound quality, no neighbour complaints, and positive feedback from crowds and DJs. Operating a rooftop lounge can be challenging due to the proximity of other rooftops, but the DAS Audio system has enabled Rosa Sky to create a high-quality sound system that fills the space and enhances every moment, without disturbing the neighbours.
