Sony Honda Mobility's First Vehicle, AFEELA 1, Set for Mass Production in 2026

Sony Honda Mobility is gearing up for mass production of its first vehicle, the AFEELA 1, with a state-of-the-art Quality Gate under construction. The facility, set to begin operations in 2026, will serve as the final production checkpoint, ensuring uncompromising quality and precision.

The plant is currently fine-tuning panel gaps to sub-millimeter precision, using custom-built jigs for unmatched consistency. Each component and process is scrutinized to meet mass production standards. Post-Honda inspection, vehicles will undergo additional proprietary checks by Sony Honda Mobility.

Pre-production trials are ongoing at Honda's East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio. These tests focus on part compatibility, assembly precision, and paint quality, ensuring production readiness at the highest level. The mass production of the AFEELA 1, Sony Honda Mobility's first product, will take place in Ohio, overseen by Sony Honda Mobility of America.

With mass production slated for 2026, Sony Honda Mobility is committed to refining its processes based on pre-production insights. A specialized polishing process is being developed to reflect light and mirror the vehicle's surroundings, reflecting the company's dedication to uncompromising surface quality.
