Sonance Presents James PowerPipe X, a Secretive Bass Amplification System
Newsonance.com: Sonance Announces the James Avery PowerPipe X Series - Revolutionizing Hidden Bass Solutions
Sonance, a leading manufacturer of architectural audio solutions, has announced the launch of the James Avery PowerPipe X Series. This new lineup of hidden bass solutions is designed to deliver true subwoofer performance while maintaining the 'designed to disappear' philosophy that Sonance is known for.
The PowerPipe X Series offers significant improvements in routing in tight spaces, thanks to its shorter, more flexible pipes. This new design simplifies the model matrix into a clear performance hierarchy, making it easier for dealers and integrators to choose the right solution for their projects.
The series features four distinct trim options: Toe Kick, VXQ, SA, and HVAC, designed to blend seamlessly into any environment. There are eight models across four performance levels available: PPX8, PPX8-M, PPX10, PPX10-M, PPX12, PPX12-M, PPX15, and PPX15-M.
Both standard MDF and marine-rated options are available for every model in the PowerPipe X Series. The new series represents an update to Sonance's 20-year-old PowerPipe concept, delivering low-frequency performance previously unavailable in hidden bass solutions. The flagship PPX15 extends down to 29 Hz (-3 dB) with 88 dB sensitivity, while the compact PPX8 reaches 44 Hz with 85 dB sensitivity.
Some of the key replacements in the PowerPipe X Series include the PPX10, which replaces the James Avery PP10, and the PPX8, which replaces the James Avery PP6-M, PP8-M, and Sonance BPS6, BPS8. Similarly, the PPX15 replaces the James Avery PP15-M and PP12-2, and the PPX12 replaces the James Avery PP12 and PP12-2.
While authorized dealers and custom integrators for the James Avery PowerPipe X Series from 2026 have not been publicly disclosed yet, it is known that James by Sonance products are available exclusively through authorized dealers and custom integrators. The PowerPipe X Series will be revealed at CEDIA Expo 2025 and is planned to ship early 2026.
