Solingen's Kronprinzenstraße to Get Modern LED Lighting
Solingen's Technical Operations (TBS) is set to commence a lighting upgrade project on Kronprinzenstraße starting Monday, June 10. The old high mast will be dismantled in the fall, with the installation of eight modern LED lighting poles expected to take approximately four weeks.
The new LED technology promises significant benefits, including reduced electricity consumption, lower costs, and decreased CO2 emissions. It also requires less maintenance than traditional lighting. This upgrade follows a similar renewal of lighting at the Schlagbaumstraße intersection about a year ago.
The construction work will initially focus on the landscaped median, with traffic restrictions in place where a pole is being installed. One lane of traffic will be temporarily closed off during these periods. After the median, the work will move to the sidewalks on both sides of the street. Despite the restrictions, the project is expected to be completed within four weeks.
The Kronprinzenstraße lighting upgrade is part of Solingen's ongoing efforts to improve street lighting while promoting sustainability. The new LED poles are expected to provide adequate lighting and reduce the city's environmental impact. The project is scheduled to begin on June 10 and is expected to be completed by the fall.
