Will Smith Introduces Two New Rimfire Firearms: The M&P 22X and M&P FPC 22LR
Will Smith, a renowned name in the firearms industry, has expanded its product line with the introduction of two new rimfire firearms: the M&P 22X and M&P FPC 22LR. These new additions, released in 2025, offer an exciting option for shooters seeking a lightweight, compact, and versatile rimfire solution.
The M&P FPC 22LR rifle, weighing approximately a pound less than its 9 mm Luger variants, is a standout choice for those seeking a lightweight yet powerful rimfire option. With an MSRP of $549, it's a competitive offering in the market. The rifle's trigger, similar to that of M&P pistols, provides a familiar feel for existing M&P users.
The M&P 22X, priced at $499, shares a similar design aesthetic with Smith & Wesson's M&P 5.7 and 22 Magnum pistols. It features a slim polymer frame with a Picatinny accessory rail in the dustcover, making it easy to customize with additional accessories. The pistol weighs 16.32 ozs.
Both the M&P 22X and M&P FPC 22LR share several common features, including a reversible magazine release, similar to M&P pistols, and interchangeable backstraps, much like those used by M&P Compact models. Magazines for both firearms hold 20 rounds, with two included with each pistol.
The M&P 22X uses an internal hammer and a blowback action with a fixed barrel. It also features a Hiviz LiteWave H3 front sight with a fiber optic insert and a rear serrated notch, providing excellent visibility in various lighting conditions.
One unique feature of the M&P FPC 22LR rifle is its ability to fold horizontally, with the optics remaining in place. This feature, combined with its overall size, which matches that of its centerfire counterparts, makes it a convenient choice for those seeking a compact yet powerful rimfire option. The rifle's barrel bushing on the 4.1" barrel can be replaced with an included 1/2x28 TPI thread adapter, making the pistol suppressor ready.
Both the M&P 22X and M&P FPC 22LR's magazines are compatible, offering flexibility for shooters who own both firearms. The M&P 22X's magazines have an MSRP of $26. The M&P FPC 22LR rifle, like its centerfire models, also features M-Lok slots on the remaining sides of the handguard, allowing for easy customization with M-Lok accessories.
For more information, the M&P 22X and M&P FPC 22LR can be found on Smith & Wesson's webpages. These new offerings from Smith & Wesson are set to bring a fresh and exciting option to the rimfire market.
