Core Devices, a new smartwatch company led by Eric Migicovsky, the original Pebble founder, has unveiled two new models: the Core 2 Duo and the Pebble Time 2 (previously known as the Core Time 2).
The Core 2 Duo, priced at $149, is now available for pre-order and will start shipping in July. This smartwatch features a 1.2-inch black-and-white e-paper LCD screen, a sturdy polycarbonate frame, and four-button operation on the sides of the case. It also comes with a built-in microphone and speaker, allowing you to listen to music or chat with digital assistants. The Core 2 Duo is available in black and white.
On the other hand, the Pebble Time 2, priced at $225, is expected to begin shipping in December. This model boasts a 1.5-inch 64-color e-paper touchscreen and a metal case with multiple color options, though only black and white versions have been unveiled so far. The Pebble Time 2 also includes a heart rate monitor, step and sleep tracking, a compass sensor, and water resistance. It has four buttons in addition to its touchscreen, and a second microphone for noise cancellation.
