Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) can now access CSIRO's Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Course
The Innovate to Grow program, an initiative by the CSIRO, is making a significant impact on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Australia. This program is designed to help businesses creating knowledge-intensive products or seeking to add innovative features to interact with customers, particularly in the digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) field.
Since its inception in 2020, the Innovate to Grow program has assisted over 600 early-stage R&D companies. The program connects businesses with knowledge, resources, and mentors, aiming to support the progress of ideas in the digital technologies and AI field.
Dr Liming Zhu, a researcher from CSIRO, has highlighted the rise of generative AI and large language models like ChatGPT. He believes that companies can tap into new growth opportunities due to the increasing power of generative AI. The AI domains covered by the program include, but are not limited to, computer vision, machine learning, chatGPT/large language models, natural language processing, digital manufacturing, quantum computing, cybersecurity, robotics, and autonomous systems.
The program is beneficial for Australian SMEs, contributing to the growth and resilience of the economy, particularly in emerging industries like digital tech and artificial intelligence. Dr Zhu also mentioned that digital technologies and AI are reshaping industries and driving economic growth.
The program offers a free ten-week online course for SMEs. Successful applicants are granted access to expert facilitators and experienced researchers. Past participants have found significant value in connecting with the program's expert advisors. The program is open to SMEs working with AI and is designed to help businesses advance their projects or ideas in the digital technologies and AI field.
The program provides access to self-paced deliverables for participating SMEs. This allows businesses to progress at their own pace, ensuring they get the most out of the program. The Innovate to Grow program is part of the offerings from CSIRO, an organization specializing in scientific research.
According to Dr Zhu, the digital and cyber innovation landscape is being rapidly transformed by generative AI. He stated that the program continues to support the progress of ideas in the digital technologies and AI field. The Australian government also offers this program, further supporting the growth and development of SMEs in these crucial sectors.
