Skoda introduces a van-style variant of its Enyaq electric sport utility vehicle

The Skoda Enyaq Cargo, Skoda UK's first fully electric van conversion, is now available, marking a significant step in the company's electrification strategy. Developed by converting the standard Enyaq 85 SUV into a panel van, the Enyaq Cargo offers a compelling mix of SUV comfort, van-like practicality, and impressive EV range, making it a strong contender in the growing electric commercial vehicle segment.

Key Specifications -------------------

The Enyaq Cargo comes in two variants: the rear-wheel-drive 85 and the all-wheel-drive 85X. Both models are equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 210 kW (282 hp) and 545 Nm of torque. The 85 variant accelerates from 0–100 km/h in approximately 6.7 seconds, while the 85X's acceleration has not been specified. Both variants have a top speed of 180 km/h.

The 85 variant is powered by an 82kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of up to 359 miles (578 km), making it one of the longest-range electric light commercial vehicles on the market. The 85X variant, due to increased drivetrain losses, has a WLTP range of 332 miles (534 km). Both variants support DC rapid charging, allowing a 10 to 80 percent charge in 28 minutes for the 85 variant and 28 minutes for the 85X variant.

Cargo Capacity and Safety Features -----------------------------------

The Enyaq Cargo offers up to 1,620 litres of cargo space with a flat load floor, tie-down points, and removable dividers for securing items. It also boasts a maximum payload of 1,000 kg. Safety features include a solid plastic bulkhead with a small window separating the cabin from the load area, rear windows tinted for privacy, and an emphasis on ease of parking and urban maneuverability.

Fleet Focus and Pricing -----------------------

The Enyaq Cargo is available exclusively to fleet buyers through Skoda's dealer network. Prices start from £44,310 for the Enyaq 85, plus £1,815 + VAT for the Cargo conversion. The Plug-in Van Grant does not apply.

Key Features ------------

The Enyaq Cargo retains the cabin tech from the Enyaq SUV, including a 13-inch central touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, connected services, and optional heated seats and heat pump for consistent range in cold weather. Its sleek, understated design, reminiscent of an SUV rather than a traditional van silhouette, makes it more car-like to drive and park.

Target Users ------------

The Enyaq Cargo is aimed at urban tradespeople, couriers, and delivery services seeking a practical, zero-emission alternative that doesn't compromise on comfort or style. It competes with the Renault Kangoo E-Tech, Ford E-Transit Courier, and Citroën ë-Berlingo, but distinguishes itself with superior range and SUV-derived comfort.

Conclusion ----------
