In a significant stride towards advancing wireless communication technologies for IoT applications, VeriSilicon and Innobase have launched the second-generation Yunbao series 5G RedCap/4G LTE dual-mode modem IP, Yunbao 2.

The Yunbao 2 modem IP integrates and reuses 4G and 5G hardware accelerators, delivering industry-leading performance in terms of area and power consumption. This next-generation IP offers a cost-effective connectivity solution, with the 5G RedCap technology targeting reduced complexity and power consumption compared to full 5G NR modems, making it suitable for IoT, wearables, industrial sensors, and other mid-tier applications.

Key Features of the Yunbao 2 Modem IP: 1. Dual-Mode Support: The modem supports both 5G RedCap and 4G LTE standards, enabling flexible connectivity options for a wide range of devices. 2. 5G RedCap Technology: This technology targets reduced complexity and power consumption compared to full 5G NR modems, suitable for IoT, wearables, industrial sensors, and other mid-tier applications. 3. The Yunbao series has completed interoperation tests between 5G RedCap terminals and base stations in collaboration with partners, including Nokia Shanghai Bell and ZTE.
