Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Edge smartphone set to receive an improved battery capacity, according to rumors
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is generating buzz in the tech world, with rumors suggesting a significant upgrade to its battery capacity. According to a post by GalaxyClub, a Dutch publication, the S26 Edge might receive a larger battery, potentially using new battery materials such as silicon-carbon anodes or a technology referred to as SUS CAN.
The new battery materials, if implemented, could help Samsung achieve a larger battery without increasing the device's thickness. The Galaxy S26 Edge is believed to remain ultra-thin, even thinner than the S25 Edge’s 5.8 mm thickness.
The Galaxy S26 Pro, which is rumored to replace the base Galaxy S26 model, is expected to have a battery capacity of 4,300mAh, about 300mAh larger than the base Galaxy S25’s 4,000mAh battery but smaller than the S25 Plus's 4,900mAh battery.
Regarding the Galaxy S26 series lineup, there are rumors suggesting Samsung might drop the traditional base model and instead launch the "Pro" as the new base or primary model in the series. This change would effectively mean the Galaxy S26 Pro replaces or renames the base model, marking a shift in Samsung’s flagship naming and product strategy for early 2026.
