Rockefeller's Municipal Bond ETFs Celebrate First Year of Strong Performance
Rockefeller Asset Management is celebrating the first anniversary of its municipal bond ETFs, which have seen impressive performance under the guidance of veteran portfolio managers. The firm, led by Alex Petrone, attributes this success to active management and fundamental analysis.
The municipal bond ETFs - Rockefeller Opportunistic Municipal Bond ETF (RMOP), Rockefeller California Municipal Bond ETF (RMCA), and Rockefeller New York Municipal Bond ETF (RMNY) - have been managed by Scott Cottier, Mark DeMitry, and Michael Camarella since they joined Rockefeller from Invesco in June 2025. Their disciplined approach to credit selection and active management has helped navigate market conditions and capitalize on municipal market inefficiencies.
RMOP, launched on August 12, 2024, has outperformed its benchmark by 151 basis points, returning 0.93% since inception. This is particularly notable as the benchmark returned -0.58% during the same period. As of August 31, 2025, RMOP has $195 million in assets under management. Rockefeller continues to expand its municipal capabilities, having launched the Rockefeller Municipal Opportunities Interval Fund (RKMIX) in December 2024.
Rockefeller Asset Management, with $17.3 billion of assets under supervision as of June 30, 2025, serves institutions and other investors through equity, fixed income, and alternative solutions. The firm's municipal bond ETFs, distributed by Foreside Fund Services, LLC, have shown strong performance in their first year, reflecting the expertise of the management team and the firm's commitment to active management.
