Restomodified Theon Design Porsche 964 in metallic blue surpasses the GT3 RS in power-to-weight ratio
Theon Design, a renowned specialist in restomodding classic Porsche 911s, has unveiled its latest masterpiece - a custom 964-generation 911 that combines the timeless charm of the air-cooled era with modern engineering and cutting-edge technology.
Priced at a staggering $590,000 (U.S. spec) excluding the cost of the donor car, shipping, and local taxes, the build process for this bespoke creation typically takes around 18 months.
The new commission boasts a lightweight F1-grade carbon-Kevlar body, a comprehensively rebuilt 4.0-liter flat-six engine delivering approximately 421 horsepower, and a six-speed manual transmission built to 993 RS specification.
The suspension system is a TracTive semi-active setup with five settings, ensuring a smooth and dynamic driving experience. Braking is handled by a bespoke carbon-ceramic system with Brembo monobloc calipers, while the rotors measure 355mm front and rear. The wheels are 18-inch Fuchs, shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber for optimal grip.
Inside, the cabin features Recaro CS seats, a JL Audio sound system with dual subwoofers tucked into the rear seat delete area, and an Alpine head unit integrated into the dashboard, which deploys electrically when needed. The interior is finished in Fresca blue and Picasso ivory leather with intricate six-color woven detailing.
The exterior finish is Azzuro Thetys Metallic with subtle ghost stripes, and the bodywork undergoes an 18-month consultation process for customization, including the evaluation of paint samples under different lighting conditions.
This restomod Porsche 911 (964) by Theon Design delivers a power-to-weight ratio that surpasses Porsche's current track weapon, the 992 GT3 RS. With its exceptional performance and meticulous attention to detail, Theon Design continues to set the bar high for high-end restomods.
