Rare Right-Hand Drive Porsche 993 Turbo Heads to Auction
A rare Porsche 993 Turbo, one of only five right-hand drive models, is set to hit the auction block on November 8, 2025, in Birmingham. This 'unicorn' of Porsche history, chassis number 338510, is expected to fetch a hefty sum.
The open-top Porsche 993 Turbo, delivered in Amaranth Violet with a classic grey leather interior, has clocked just 13,297 kilometers. It's being offered for sale for the first time since its delivery in 1995. The vehicle's rarity is underscored by its production story. Dealer Fritz Haberl convinced Porsche to create at least ten units, resulting in fourteen examples being produced in 1995 and registered for road use. Each car was built in Porsche's special wishes department, powered by a 3.6-liter M64/50 engine and a matching Getrag five-speed transmission. The 1995 retail price of this model was a staggering 264,000 Marks, a significant premium over the normal 993 Cabriolet. Now, this piece of Porsche history is estimated to sell for £700,000 to £800,000 (approximately €805,000 to €920,000).
The open Porsche 993 Turbo, chassis number 338510, is a true collector's item. Its rarity, low mileage, and impressive heritage make it a highly sought-after lot at the Iconic Auctioneers event in Birmingham. Porsche enthusiasts and collectors alike are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to own this piece of automotive history.
