MWC Doha 2025: Qatar to Host First Mobile World Congress in the Middle East
Qatar is set to host the first Mobile World Congress (MWC) in the Middle East and North Africa region, marking a significant milestone in the country's digital transformation journey. The event, MWC Doha, will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre on November 25-26, 2025.
The event is organized by the GSMA, a global organization that unifies the mobile ecosystem. Vivek Badrinath, the director general at GSMA, expressed excitement about bringing MWC to Qatar for the first time. He noted that the region is striving to advance the next generation of digital societies.
The event's agenda will explore the impact of emerging technologies on economies and societies worldwide, with discussions centering around three themes: AI Nexus, Intelligent Economies, and Connected Industries. The dynamic lineup of thematic tracks includes summits on agentic AI, intelligent telecom networks, the future of fintech, smart mobility, data centres, 5G, IoT, and satellite connectivity.
H.E. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, the minister of communications and information technology, stated that hosting MWC Doha aligns with Qatar's strategic vision to be at the forefront of global digital innovation. He added that the event reflects Qatar's commitment to creating a sustainable, innovation-driven digital economy in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
MWC25 Doha has confirmed exhibitors such as Mannai, Cisco, Nokia, South Korean and Turkish companies, and Ooredoo as a Strategic Partner. Qatar University has been confirmed as the Educational Partner for MWC25 Doha, a first for an MWC event.
The event will feature exhibitions, dynamic networking spaces, and high-level panels led by hundreds of global speakers. The confirmed keynote topics for MWC Doha 2025 in Qatar include "Global Tech Governance: Rising to the Challenge" and "AI and Innovation for Climate Action," delivered by the ITU Secretary-General.
By hosting MWC25 Doha, Qatar reinforces its role as a global convener of technology leaders and a regional hub for advanced connectivity, AI integration, and smart infrastructure. The event is expected to attract international participants from around 60 countries, including 40% Director level and senior executives, technology leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, is the patron of MWC Doha. The event supports national efforts to accelerate digital transformation across vital sectors, including government services, education, mobility, commerce, and energy.
