Proofpoint introduces an AI-powered compliance solution

Proofpoint, a leading cybersecurity and compliance company, has announced the launch of an AI solution for Human Communications Intelligence (HCI) designed for enterprises in regulated and highly litigious industries. The solution, powered by Proofpoint's Nuclei technology, is expected to revolutionise digital communications governance (DCG) by transforming it from post-incident compliance to real-time, AI-powered risk reasoning, detection, and prevention.

The HCI solution is intended to help organisations reduce the costs associated with post-incident compliance and legal events. It achieves this by integrating HCI agents with Proofpoint's Insider Threat Management (ITM), correlating communications-based risk indicators with user activity across endpoints.

The solution is designed to allow organisations to act on human behaviour before it becomes a compliance, security, or legal event. Proofpoint Capture, a key component of the HCI, ingests communications channels in real-time and applies real-time reasoning. This enables the system to interpret human intent, capturing and contextualising communications across more than 80 channels in real time.

The HCI solution is expected to improve organisations' ability to detect, understand, and mitigate conduct and compliance risks in real-time. Proofpoint Supervision, another crucial part of the HCI, analyses 100 percent of captured communications with advanced detection, resulting in a nearly 90 percent reduction in long-tail noise. It understands tone, intent, shorthand, emojis, and code snippets across multiple languages.

The companies equipped by Proofpoint with the AI solution for Human Communications Intelligence belong to industries including finance, healthcare, and technology at the time of the announcement. Proofpoint has been dedicated to bringing AI-powered tools to the channel, most recently partnering with ConnectWise.

AI-powered enhancements, including a new class of LLMs for Proofpoint Supervision, are expected to be available in Q4 2025. The integration with Insider Threat Management is planned for Q1 2026. The Human Communications Intelligence solution will be part of Proofpoint's Digital Communications Governance portfolio.

The reasoning AI agents in Proofpoint Capture can interpret communications at scale and integrate with third-party archives. The HCI solution is intended to provide organisations with a cost-effective way to manage their digital communications governance and compliance risks in real-time.

In summary, Proofpoint's AI solution for Human Communications Intelligence offers a promising approach to help organisations navigate the complexities of compliance and security risks in their digital communications. By transforming DCG from a reactive to a proactive approach, the HCI solution aims to empower organisations to act on human behaviour before it becomes a problem, ultimately saving costs and resources in the long run.
