Garmin has announced the launch of its latest hybrid watch, the Instinct Crossover AMOLED. The new device, presented in 2023, is a refresh of the original Instinct Crossover, boasting several upgrades and a more classic design.

Priced at $649, the Instinct Crossover AMOLED marks a potential increase in price compared to previous Garmin watches. For those seeking a more tactical option, a Tactical Edition is available for $749, offering military applications.

The watch features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, a departure from the original's transflective screen. This change, however, impacts the battery life, with the AMOLED version lasting only 14 days per charge, as opposed to the original's up to 28 days or 70 days with a solar upgrade.

Despite the change in display, the Instinct Crossover AMOLED retains its ruggedness, boasting 10ATM resistance and MIL-STD protection. The watch also includes a built-in flashlight, a useful addition for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Instinct Crossover AMOLED offers a more classic style, featuring a steel bezel and vibrant hands. It shares features with the Instinct 3, including military-grade ruggedness, a metal bezel, multi-band GPS with SatIQ mode, white & red LED flashlights, 4th-Gen Elevate sensors, and identical training tools.

The watch's design is slightly heavier than the Instinct 3, maintaining a similar bulky design. It weighs 67g with a thickness of 15mm. The Instinct Crossover AMOLED is available in two colorways: charcoal and bronze/ sunburst.

One of the key features of the Instinct Crossover AMOLED is Garmin's RevoDrive technology, which allows for hand recalibration. This technology ensures that the watch's analog watch hands accurately reflect the digital time, providing a seamless user experience.

The Instinct Crossover AMOLED also offers upgraded GPS accuracy and a new flashlight. Its multi-band tracking lasts for 15 hours, which is less than the 50mm Instinct 3, but still provides ample time for outdoor activities.

The Tactical Edition of the Instinct Crossover AMOLED offers additional military applications, catering to those with specific needs for their outdoor pursuits.

With the Instinct Crossover AMOLED, Garmin continues to push the boundaries of hybrid watch technology, offering a device that combines the best of both worlds - the classic look of an analog watch with the precision and features of a modern smartwatch.
