Potential Android devices from Honor Brand could feature significant battery enhancements

Rumors are circulating that Honor, the popular smartphone manufacturer, is planning to significantly increase battery capacities in its mid-range and flagship phone lines. The anticipated power boost could result in Honor devices staying off the charger for longer periods.

According to reports on Weibo, posted by Digital Chat Station (DCS), Honor is preparing to increase battery capacity totals. If the tipster's claims are accurate, future Honor flagships could see batteries of up to 7,000mAh or higher. Mid-range devices, on the other hand, are expected to exceed 8,000mAh, with specific figures suggesting batteries between 8,200mAh and 8,400mAh.

These battery capacities would represent a generous increase over Honor's current devices. For instance, the Honor Magic 7 Pro, which debuted earlier this year, has a 5,270mAh battery, smaller than the Chinese variant (5,850mAh). In comparison, the Honor Magic 6 Pro sports a 5,600mAh battery, with similar durations for heavy to medium use.

The rumored battery capacity boost could potentially extend the usage time of Honor phones significantly. For example, the forthcoming Honor Magic8 series is rumored to maintain fast charging capabilities with wired charging speeds pushing up to 100W and wireless charging around 80W. However, battery capacity might be somewhat lower than the mid-range models’ large cells.

Honor's focus on making its devices thinner is particularly noteworthy. The company has successfully made its foldable devices, like the Magic V5, thinner, suggesting potential for larger batteries without significantly increasing size or weight. The Magic V5 sports a 6,100mAh battery based on Honor's "razor-thin" silicon-carbon battery technology.

The publication speculates that the rumored power boost could be seen in Honor phones sometime this year. However, no specific release dates for these phones with increased battery capacity have been announced. The exact battery capacities for future mid-range and flagship Honor phones remain unconfirmed, despite the rumors.

In summary, Honor plans to standardize roughly 7,000mAh+ batteries on its flagships and push mid-range phones to exceed 8,000mAh. This strategy highlights Honor’s focus on long-lasting batteries combined with high-speed charging technology.

In light of the rumors circulating, it is likely that Honor's upcoming flagship smartphones might feature batteries of up to 7,000mAh or higher, marking a significant increase from current models such as the Honor Magic 7 Pro with its 5,270mAh battery. On the other hand, mid-range Honor devices may boast batteries exceeding 8,000mAh, potentially making these gadgets the champions of long-lasting battery life in the market. The emphasis on technology by Honor, seen in both larger battery capacities and high-speed charging, sets them apart in the competitive smartphone landscape.
