Personal Information Hiding Implemented Across All Products for Simplified Privacy Regulation Adherence by Regula

In a significant move to bolster its forensic tools, Regula has recently launched an updated version of its Regula Forensic Studio (RFS). The new release brings a host of improvements aimed at enhancing speed, customization, and forensic precision, while also prioritizing privacy and compliance.

One of the key additions to the RFS is the personal data masking feature, now available in both the RFS and Regula Document Reader SDK. This feature ensures responsible handling of sensitive data, meeting stringent global requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and others. This move underscores Regula's commitment to privacy and compliance, a priority that Ihar Kliashchou, Chief Technology Officer at Regula, has emphasized.

Beyond personal data masking, the latest RFS release introduces a significant new feature: the Regula 4166 morphing detector. This compact, pen-sized forensic device is designed for fast and visual identification of morphed facial images, addressing a growing fraud threat that traditional methods often struggle with. The device uses a special lighting mode and camera angle to highlight overprinting traces typical of face morphing, enabling three-dimensional visualization of the photo surface.

The RFS update also includes enhancements to the 4306 video spectral comparator, designed to keep pace with evolving document security features. This upgrade further improves document examination workflows.

Other notable features in the new RFS release include visual reporting capabilities, allowing for the generation of composite images under varied lighting, suitable for expert reports or courtroom presentations. The RFS now supports expanded digital zoom, offering up to 16x for detailed inspections.

The latest RFS also boasts streamlined collaboration, with video screen capture and camera recording capabilities for team training and case reviews. Users can now choose from three flexible video modes for different examination tasks.

The RFS release also introduces integrated workflows, with automated document searches in the Information Reference System (IRS) after MRZ reading to reduce manual steps. A new analysis tool, Yellow dot analysis, is also included, designed to trace document origins and detect unauthorized duplicates.

Improved imaging is another aspect of the RFS update, with per-light-source gamma correction and full-spectrum HDR imaging for enhanced clarity across all materials.

Regula's commitment to advancing forensic technology extends beyond privacy compliance features like personal data masking. The new RFS release demonstrates this commitment, offering a significant leap forward in identity verification and document authentication solutions.
