Pakistan introduces 'Agri Stack' digitalization for farming industry nationwide
Pakistan has embarked on an ambitious digital infrastructure project, the National Agri Stack, aimed at modernising its agricultural sector and empowering farmers. It seeks to provide farmers with verified digital identities, streamline the delivery of subsidies, loans, crop insurance, and other support, improve access to credit by tracking farmers’ credit histories, deliver timely, data-driven advice on crop management and weather updates, enhance transparency and reduce leakages in government support programs, connect farmers more directly with markets and buyers, integrate land records, satellite imagery, and market data for better resource management, and ultimately boost productivity, financial inclusion, and resilience against climate shocks within the agriculture sector [1][2].
The potential benefits of the Agri Stack for Pakistan's agriculture sector and farmers are immense.
