The Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan is on a roll with its 5G revolution! According to Kazinform, the country has zoomed past the 3,000 mark for 5G base stations, thanks to the mighty Kazakhtelecom - the nation's dominating telecom giant.

Nurlan Meirmanov, the Chief Innovation Officer at Kazakhtelecom, announced that this speedy rollout is part of a collaborative project involving Mobile Telecom-Service, a joint venture of Tele2 and ALTEL brands. Meirmanov excitedly shared that the project is zooming ahead of schedule!

The first stage of license obligations is planned to wrap up by 2027, ensuring that the 5G network will magically appear in every regional center.

Meirmanov reported a staggering 40% surge in 5G usage in certain cities way back in Q1 2025! In Almaty and Astana (formerly Nur-Sultan), a whopping 30-50% of mobile traffic is already humming through the 5G network!
