Online accessibility granted for solar energy potential registration

The Solar Potential Atlas for Bavarian Lower Main, a valuable tool for residents seeking to harness solar energy, has been updated and is now accessible online at www.solare-stadt.de/bayerischer-untermain.

First created in 2014 as a joint project by the city and district of Aschaffenburg and the district of Miltenberg, the atlas has undergone significant improvements. The Bavarian Surveying Administration provided high-resolution laser scan data for the atlas in early 2025, ensuring its accuracy and detail.

The updated atlas now offers an integrated craftsman search, allowing users to find specialist companies for their solar energy needs. Not only regional craft businesses are listed on the www.heimvorteil.de platform, but also neutral and individual consulting offers of the consumer service Bavaria and their regional climate protection managers can be found.

The Energy Agency Bavarian Lower Main has taken over the coordination and financial maintenance of the project, ensuring its continued development and relevance. The programming and implementation of the update were carried out by the company Tetraeder.solar.

The Solar Potential Atlas is used for evaluating solar energy potential. Homeowners can use the Atlas to check the suitability of their roof for photovoltaic or solar thermal systems. Potential electricity yields, CO2 savings, and cost-effectiveness calculations can be retrieved using the Atlas, making it a solid basis for starting consultations or obtaining offers from qualified specialist companies.

The atlas has been updated with new geodata, providing even more accurate and detailed information. A notable example of its practical application is the climate-neutral city library, whose solar power plant was planned with the atlas. A photo of the library was provided in the article.

The Solar Potential Atlas for the Bavarian Lower Main is now available online, offering a convenient and accessible solution for residents seeking to contribute to renewable energy production in their region.
