Ocean Outdoor Set to Disrupt German DOOH Scene with Interactive, Urban-Focused Ads

Ocean Outdoor, a leading digital out-of-home advertising specialist, is set to make waves in Germany. Having expanded to seven markets with 4000 screens, Germany is next on the list. The company, founded in London in 2004, is rebuilding its German operations from scratch, with no takeover of existing structures.

The company's strategy is clear: focus on fewer, but spectacular projects that leave a lasting impression. Ocean Outdoor works with private real estate developers in Germany to integrate screens into urban development, providing spaces for safety announcements or cultural programs. The goal is to have two to three premium locations in each top-10 city, targeting large places, shopping centers, and urban hotspots.

To encourage creatives to explore the new possibilities of digital out-of-home advertising, Ocean Outdoor launched the 'Digital Creative Competition'. The company combines 3D content with interaction through 'DeepScreen Alive', creating an immersive advertising experience that people can actively participate in.

Stephen Joseph, who joined Ocean Outdoor in 2008 and has served as CFO, COO, and now CEO since 2021, is leading the expansion. The company was originally a boutique agency for unique outdoor advertising, later sold to Searchlight Capital in 2018 and acquired by Ocelot Partners Limited, renaming it Ocean Outdoor.

Ocean Outdoor's expansion into Germany is underway, with a focus on creating striking, interactive advertising experiences. While the next project's details remain unknown, the company's commitment to innovative, urban-focused advertising is clear. As Ocean Outdoor continues to grow, it aims to make a significant impact on the German advertising landscape.
