Nissan to Launch Affordable 7-Seater MPV in Early 2026

Nissan is set to expand its product lineup in India with the introduction of a new 7-seater MPV, based on the Renault Triber but featuring distinct Nissan design elements. This upcoming model, known as the Nissan B-MPV, is expected to launch in early 2026.

The Nissan B-MPV will share the Triber’s platform and powertrain, including a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing approximately 71 bhp and 96 Nm torque. This engine will be offered with a choice of a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission.

In terms of design and features, the Nissan B-MPV will distinguish itself from the Renault Triber with Nissan’s unique styling. While detailed feature lists are not yet available, the MPV is expected to come equipped with new alloys, roof rails, and the new digital console and infotainment system seen on the Renault model.

The Nissan B-MPV is part of a four-model product pipeline from Nissan India, which also includes a 5-seater C-segment SUV targeting rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This upcoming C-SUV will be based on the CMF-B platform, which also underpins the Renault Duster, and will be launched in 2026 as well.

Comparatively, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are more premium C-segment SUVs, powered by larger engines and offering more features such as panoramic sunroofs, advanced infotainment, and powerful petrol and diesel options. These SUVs are not MPVs but competitors in the C-SUV segment, where Nissan plans to introduce a separate 5-seater C-SUV also by 2026.

The Nissan B-MPV is aimed at buyers seeking a practical 7-seater MPV with affordable running costs, positioned below the premium C-segment SUVs in terms of segment but competitive with the Triber and other small MPVs. On the other hand, the Nissan C-SUV will compete more directly with the Creta and Seltos, offering larger engines and premium features.

The interior design of the Nissan B-MPV has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to carry over recent upgrades from the facelifted Triber with a different style. The rear-end of the Nissan B-MPV is expected to sport a tweaked set of LED taillights, while the front bumper will be larger, with C-shaped elements flanking the lower grille.

As for the Nissan C-SUV, no information about the powertrain has been released yet. However, it is expected to be based on a stretched-out variant of the Duster, known as the Dacia Bigster, and will offer a premium seven-seater SUV experience.

In summary, the Nissan B-MPV is a Triber-based affordable 7-seater MPV with a 1.0L petrol engine, distinct Nissan styling, and an expected launch in early 2026. The Nissan C-SUV, slated for 2026, will compete more directly with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, offering larger engines and premium features.

The upcoming Nissan B-MPV, set to launch in early 2026, is poised to venture into the automotive industry by offering a budget-friendly 7-seater MPV, coinciding with trends in lifestyle needs for transportation. With its unique Nissan design elements, technology advancements like the new digital console and infotainment system will be integrated, positioning it within the small MPV segment.

The fourth model in Nissan India's product pipeline, a 5-seater C-segment SUV, will leverage technology and finance strategies to challenge competitors like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the premium C-SUV segment, offering larger engines and premium features.

In the realm of finance and technology, the automotive sector is expected to witness significant growth and competition, with Nissan playing a vital role by introducing both the affordable B-MPV and the premium C-SUV, catering to diverse needs in the transportation industry and enhancing the overall lifestyle experience for consumers.
