The electric vehicle (EV) market is abuzz with excitement as Nio's sub-brand Onvo unveils its latest offering, the L90 flagship SUV, in China. The full-size, three-row electric SUV, launched on [date], boasts advanced features, competitive pricing, and a host of impressive specifications.

The L90 SUV is equipped with a 925V high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor, a technology shared with the Nio ET9. It comes standard with an 85 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 605 km (RWD) or 570 km (AWD). The SUV's fast charging capability allows for a 10-80% charge in just 25 minutes.

The L90 employs a 900V high-voltage architecture and includes a heat pump air conditioning system and battery pack technology. The cabin is a tech-lover's dream, featuring a 35-inch augmented reality HUD, a 17.2-inch 3K central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip with 24GB RAM, and runs the Coconut 2.0.0 system. Entertainment options include a 17.3-inch ceiling screen, an 8-inch rear screen, and a premium sound system with 23 speakers and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos certification.

Storage solutions are not forgotten, with a 240L smart power frunk and a 670L cabin, including a unique onboard refrigerator supporting temperatures from 0-50°C.

Performance-wise, the AWD version produces up to 440 kW and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, while the RWD versions peak at 340 kW and 5.9 seconds respectively. The SUV also supports battery swap technology, enabling a fully charged battery swap in about 3 minutes, backed by an extensive network of over 3,400 stations in China.

Dimensionsally, the L90 measures 5,145 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, 1,786 mm high with a 3,110 mm wheelbase. It weighs 2,250 kg thanks to lightweight construction methods.

Pricing starts at approximately $25,000 USD with a battery rental option, making it one of the competitively priced full-size electric SUVs in the market. Early buyers before August 31, 2025, receive discounts on options and five years of free Navigation on Autopilot (NOA).

Onvo has produced a batch of L90 SUVs in advance to enable rapid delivery after the launch. The company has increased the number of L90 SUVs available for test drives to 1,000, with the first deliveries taking place in 44 cities across China. The initial deliveries are six-seaters, with seven-seaters set to follow in late September.

Onvo's founder, chairman, and CEO, William Li, handed over L90 SUVs to 21 owners at a delivery center in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang province. The company has also announced that it will accelerate production to ensure rapid delivery of the L90 SUV.

As for whether a 60-kWh battery pack will be available for the L90, Onvo's team needs to conduct further research. The starting price of the L90 SUV is RMB 265,800 ($36,860) including an 85-kWh battery pack. Customers were allowed to test drive the L90 SUV on July 23. Onvo began pre-sales of the L90 SUV on July 10.
