Nio's Firefly electric vehicle reaches its 10,000th delivery, European deliveries set to commence shortly.

Nio's much-anticipated Firefly electric vehicle is preparing for its European debut, with deliveries expected to commence between June and August 2025. This announcement comes after the successful launch and delivery of over 10,000 units in China.

The Firefly, priced at RMB 119,800 and RMB 125,800 (including the battery pack), will be available in two trims. Nio aims to enter about 20 overseas markets by the end of 2025, with the right-hand drive version ready by October 2025 to support markets including the UK and Southeast Asia.

In preparation for the European launch, a 15-day road test was conducted across multiple European countries. The test was designed to ensure the vehicle's compatibility with local conditions and regulations.

To facilitate the global rollout, Nio has partnered with HERE Technologies, providing high-quality map data and advanced driver assistance system functionalities compliant with EU regulations. This collaboration will be instrumental in supporting Firefly's success in the European market.

Deliveries in Europe will begin shortly, with several countries such as Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic already announced. Expansions to Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, and Bulgaria are planned by the end of 2026.

The Firefly's battery-as-a-service (BaaS) purchase option became available on June 24, lowering the purchase threshold to RMB 79,800. However, consumers will need to pay a monthly battery rental fee of RMB 399.

Nio first unveiled the Firefly brand at NIO Day 2024 on December 21, 2024. Since then, the vehicle has demonstrated impressive sales figures, with 3,680 units delivered in May, 3,932 units in June, and 2,157 units in the current month. The 10,000th Firefly was delivered on an unspecified date.

Initially, Nio had planned to launch Firefly in Europe first, but higher tariffs forced a change in strategy, launching it in China first. Despite this, Nio remains committed to reinforcing its global expansion strategy, leveraging the Firefly brand alongside its core lineup in multiple European markets over the next 18 months.

With the European launch imminent, the Firefly is poised to make a significant impact in the global electric vehicle market.
