Newly introduced Asus ROG Wi-Fi 7 gaming router boasts nine 2.5G ports for enhanced gaming performance.
Asus has unleashed a swanky Wi-Fi 7 router, the ROG Strix GS-BE18000, into the gaming realm, packing a punch with its captivating features. Unveiled at Computex 2025, this beastly router sports a mini-PC tower-like design, bedecked with ROG branding and an RGB logo, and flaunts nine 2.5G ports. Sharing the spotlight is the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI, another high-end router boasting a sleek white design and artificial intelligence capabilities, equipped with a built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
Primed for gamers, enthusiasts, or even small-scale offices, the ROG Strix GS-BE18000 promises mind-blowing speeds, reaching up to 18 Gbps across its 2.4GHz (688 Mbps), 5GHz (5,765 Mbps), and 6GHz (11,529 Mbps) bands. Coupled with a 20 Gbps wired capacity, this powerhouse offers a 2.5G WAN port and seven 2.5G LAN ports for intense data-hungry tasks.
The beast under the hood is a 2 GHz quad-core processor, backed by 2GB of DDR4 memory, to handle multiple connections and network-intensive tasks seamlessly. The router's innovative features include eight internal antennas, traffic prioritization for gaming, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 4G/5G auto mobile tethering support, compatibility with other mesh devices, tri-level security, and a coverage area of up to 3,300 square feet.
To keep the ROG Strix GS-BE18000 cool, Asus incorporated carbon-nano-coated aluminum heat plates, custom vents, and heat spreaders on each side of the internal mainboard. Asus also revealed the robotically designed ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI, which caters to gamers and enthusiasts with its aggressive, sci-fi aesthetic. Featuring a white hexagonal chassis and eight large external antennas, this futuristic router exudes the air of a sophisticated command center for your digital kingdom.
The Rapture GT-BE19000AI, pushed into the spotlight at CES in January, offers tri-band Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and boasts an AI-driven power-saving mode, reducing energy consumption by up to 46% during low-activity periods. For gaming, the router offers AI Game Booster, which optimizes network performance to cut down on ping, jitter, and packet loss. Additional features include Virtual Private Network (VPN) support, ad and tracker blockers, a network insight panel, and an RF scanner to fortify network stability and security. It also caters to different devices and user groups with the ability to support five SSIDs and compatibility with the company's AiMesh system for expanded network coverage.
