New World Record for Autonomous Vehicle Speed Set at 318km/h
A new world record for autonomous vehicle speed has been set, but the responsible entity remains unknown. The record was achieved at the Space Florida Launch and Landing Facility, with a top speed surpassing the previous mark.
The Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) and Politecnico di Milano, Italy's largest scientific-technological university, collaborated to achieve this feat. Using a Maserati MC20 coupe, piloted by a 'robo-driver' from Politecnico di Milano, the vehicle reached an astonishing 318km/h, leaving behind the previous record of 310km/h.
The record-breaking speed test took place at the LLF, one of the world's longest runways, with a second Maserati MC20 Cielo convertible from Politecnico di Milano joining the convoy of the 1000 Miglia Experience Florida.
While the specific entity behind this remarkable achievement remains unconfirmed, the collaboration between IAC and Politecnico di Milano has successfully pushed the boundaries of autonomous vehicle speed. The new record stands at 318km/h, setting a high bar for future innovations in the field.
