The team at Buchla's been hard at it, giving this legendary piece of gear a modern twist without compromising its iconic appeal.
The Music Easel reincarnation made a splash at Superbooth 2023, emerging in three exhilarating designs: modern, retro, and the 50th Anniversary Collectors edition. Each variation maintains the high-quality control, the legendary workflow of the original Music Easel, and a nod to Buchla's historic roots.

At the Superbooth festivities, we showed off our revamped Music Easel and the Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Easel.
The 50th Anniversary Easel whipped up a whirlwind of admiration, but the retro-tastic vibe, with guest artist preset cards, publication, signed artwork, and a special edition LP, didn’t ring everyone’s cash register.
Once it was back to the drawing board, we asked ourselves if we could capture the essence of the Anniversary Easel without breaking the bank. The answer snatcher: 'hell yeah!'
The freshly redesigned Music Easel is encased in a sturdy casing, rocking a 218 Touch Keyboard Controller and a 208 Stored Program Sound Source that allows hands-on control via the keyboard pads, knobs, sliders, switches, and patch points. To honor its storied past, Buchla's included the original Program Cards stuffed with user presets using resistors, just like the ’73 days!

Pre-orders are now live for all three designs, with the modern and retro editions priced at $4,999, and expected to drop on June 16th. If you're looking for a little extra bling, the 50th Anniversary Edition sells for $9,999, with pre-orders open from July 1st to the end of the month.
