New Model of Honda Activa 125 Scooter, OBD2B-Compliant, Debuts at ₹94,422 Price Point
The Japanese automobile giant, Honda, has announced the refreshed version of its popular scooter, the Activa 125. The new model, priced at ₹94,422 for the DLX model and ₹97,146 for the H-Smart trim (ex-showroom Delhi), boasts several new features and a revised engine.
The layout of the TFT screen resembles the one seen on the Honda NX500, offering a sleek and modern look. This 4.3-inch color TFT screen is compatible with Honda's RoadSync app, providing turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and music controls. The screen, along with the LED headlight and the new USB Type-C charging port, remains unchanged in terms of functionality.
The LED headlight of the new Activa 125 is traditional and squarish, a departure from its previous design. The engine of the scooter has been revised, producing 8.31 bhp and 10.5 Nm, an increase of 0.1 bhp and 0.1 Nm compared to the previous model.
The controls can be operated via the joycube on the left hand side switchgear. The Activa 125's frugality and refinement levels are expected to remain the same, maintaining the scooter's reputation for efficiency and comfort.
The Activa 125 continues to compete with the Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS Jupiter 125 in the market. The Activa 125 badging on the side panels is embossed into a chrome strip, adding a touch of elegance to the design.
Six colours are available for the new Activa 125, each option now comes with brown seats and inner panels. The new Activa 125 is nearly ₹7,000 dearer than the outgoing model.
The Chief Development Director of Honda responsible for the development of the renewed Activa 125 is Mr. Yasunobu Matsuki. The Honda Activa e: and QC1, scheduled for release in 2025, are expected to contribute to a promising start for Honda in the new year.
While the details about the upcoming larger capacity Hondas have not been disclosed, a few are scheduled to be released after the announcement of the Activa e: and QC1 prices, expected in the first week of 2025. The new Activa 125's prices are expected to play a significant role in setting the stage for these future releases.
