New mobile application, iAzamat, unveils its latest features during a presentation in Almaty
The iAzamat mobile app, currently under development, is set to revolutionise the way residents of a metropolis engage with their city. The app, which is available for download on smartphones, aims to provide a one-stop platform for civic engagement, offering features beyond simple city project voting and discussion.
One of the key features of the iAzamat app is its integration with popular payment systems, such as "Onaй" cards, for seamless payment of utility bills, mobile services, and other payments directly through the app. This integration is expected to extend to loyalty programs linked with local businesses and government services, encouraging participation and rewarding active use of the system.
In addition, the app will provide real-time service requests and status tracking for city services or infrastructural issues, notifications and updates related to local government news, events, or project progress, and secure user authentication and data privacy features to protect user information.
The main goal of the iAzamat app is to engage citizens in city development projects. QR codes will be installed near city attractions for easy access to information via the app. Users can voice their opinions on city development projects, earn bonuses for active use of the system, and even purchase tickets to cultural and sports events through the app, which is currently in development.
The app was developed in less than a year by a team including Igor Tarakov, Medet Samatuly, and Almaty TV, with Aliya Zhaksalykov, Director of the Department of the City Development Center, stating that the main functions of the iAzamat app include participating in city project voting and discussing ideas for city development.
As the app undergoes system refinement, it is expected to help solve problems such as courtyard greening, street lighting installation, creating new public spaces, and street renaming. With its comprehensive service integration and focus on citizen engagement, the iAzamat mobile app is poised to become a valuable tool for city residents and a model for civic apps worldwide.
