New camera release by PTZOptics featuring Hive integration set to attraction

The PTZOptics ZCAM 4K camera is set to revolutionise the world of professional broadcast, live event production, and corporate streaming with its impressive features and integration with the Hive-Link cloud platform.

Key Features of the PTZOptics ZCAM 4K

The ZCAM 4K offers a 4K UHD (2160p60) output over HDMI 2.0, supporting high-quality video capture. It boasts a 12x optical zoom and up to 16x digital zoom, thanks to a Sony 1/2.8″ CMOS sensor that provides excellent image detail and flexible framing options.

Connectivity options are plentiful, including HDMI, SDI (1080p60), USB 2.0 (up to 4K30), and Ethernet. The camera supports NDI, SRT, RTSP, and RTMP protocols for video streaming up to 4K@60fps. Additionally, it features Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), making power and data transmission more convenient and reducing cable clutter.

Camera control can be achieved via Ethernet, RS-232, and RS-485 serial ports, enabling integration with joystick controllers and network camera control for flexible operation in various setups. Some models even offer auto-tracking capability, allowing hands-free subject tracking without additional software or operators.

Hive-Link Integration and Cloud-Based Production Platform Benefits

Hive-Link is a cloud-based service integrated with PTZOptics cameras like the ZCAM 4K. This integration allows producers and operators to create multi-camera productions in the cloud without requiring local hardware setups. It facilitates real-time switching, graphics, and overlays within a browser-based interface.

Hive-Link supports easy collaboration among teams via cloud infrastructure, enhancing workflow efficiency and enabling distributed production teams to work seamlessly together. The cloud-based platform also reduces the need for complex on-site equipment and simplifies streaming to multiple platforms simultaneously.

Additionally, Hive-Link integration often includes features like recording, archiving, and monitoring all productions centrally, making workflows more streamlined and scalable.

PTZOptics' Approach

Paul Richards, chief revenue officer at PTZOptics, stated that the ZCAM 4K is designed to address the increasing demand for high-resolution, compact cameras that integrate effortlessly with cloud-based systems. Hive's cloud-native capabilities allow production teams to manage over 400 supported cameras.

The public beta of Hive is aimed at gathering additional insights, and it is free for users to experience its features. The PTZOptics ZCAM 4K camera is said to bring new levels of efficiency to any production.

The PTZOptics ZCAM 4K camera, with its Hive integration, offers streamlined camera control, switching, and collaboration features. It is set to debut at IBC 2024.

Supported cameras in Hive include Panasonic, SONY, Lumens, AIDA, Bird-Dog, and Canon. The ZCAM 4K has optical zoom options of 12X or 20X, and its features are all within a single, easily accessible platform. It also offers multiple output options, including 3G-SDI, HDMI, NDI, USB, and direct Hive integration.

Hive offers features like auto-tracking, advanced PTZ control, colour correction, and NDI output. With the ZCAM 4K, along with other Hive-Linked cameras, complex setups or additional hardware are no longer required for efficient camera control.
