Michelin Guide Argentina 2025 Highlights Vibrant Culinary Scene
The Michelin Guide has released its second report for Argentina, showcasing the vibrant and evolving culinary scene in the country. The Michelin Guide Buenos Aires & Mendoza 2025 was unveiled at an event held at Susana Balbo Wines, a venue that also received a green star for its guide entry, Osadía de Crear.
The guide recognizes a total of 80 venues, with 56 in Buenos Aires and 24 in Mendoza. Among the notable additions are three new one-starred establishments: Crizia in Buenos Aires, Riccitelli Bistró in Mendoza, and Angélica Cocina Maestra at Catena Zapata.
MN Santa Inés, led by chef Jazmín Marturet, was recognized for its international and eclectic flavors, operating out of a renovated industrial bakery in the Paternal neighborhood. The up-and-coming generation of chefs and sommeliers in Argentina proved their skills, with Elena Cabrera and Leonel Castro Ortiz, a sommelier duo, receiving the Michelin Sommelier award for their work at one-star Trescha.
Gwendal Poullennec, international director of Michelin Guide, praised the local gastronomy scene in Argentina. "The growth and diversity of this year's edition highlight the vibrancy and evolution of the Argentine hospitality industry, solidifying its status as a culinary powerhouse," he said.
Six restaurants awarded one Michelin star in 2024 were confirmed again. These include Crizia, Zonda Cocina de Paisaje, Riccitelli Bistró, Angélica Cocina Maestra, Casa Vigil, Don Julio. Aramburu in Buenos Aire's Recoleta neighborhood renewed its two-star status.
The guide also added two new venues: La Vid at Bodega Norton and Martino Wines at the eponymous winery in Mendoza. Ultramarinos, led by chef Maxi Rossi, received another Michelin nod, following his success at Picarón.
In addition, 16 other venues, including several 2024 openings, were added to the guide's 'selected restaurants' list. One of these is Nicolás Tykocki, aged 27, who was named Best Young Chef for his innovative and skilled approach at Ácido, blending international influences such as Korean, Lebanese, Turkish, Chinese, and Spanish.
Michel Rolland Grill & Wine, a concept centered around the cellar and tasted of renowned oenology consultant Michel Rolland, was also added to the guide. The growth and diversity of this year's edition reflect the commitment to sustainability and eco-responsibility in Buenos Aires and Mendoza, regions covered by the guide.
