Luxury hybrid watch for outdoor adventurers - Garmin's Instinct Crossover AMOLED offers premium features for enthusiasts of the great outdoors
In early 2025, Garmin introduced the Instinct Crossover AMOLED hybrid watch, a new addition to their lineup of rugged and versatile smartwatches. Priced at $649, the Instinct Crossover AMOLED offers a unique blend of mechanical hands and a bright AMOLED display, all protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire lens.
The Instinct Crossover AMOLED boasts several key improvements over its predecessor. It features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, which automatically recalibrates the analog watch hands for enhanced readability. The watch offers 29 GPS hours of tracking, an increase from the original Crossover's 25 hours, but its 15 hours of multi-band tracking is less than the Instinct 3's 30 hours.
The Instinct Crossover AMOLED adopts a more classic style, featuring a steel bezel, and comes in two colorways: charcoal and bronze/sunburst. It also includes a new flashlight and upgraded GPS accuracy, thanks to Garmin's RevoDrive technology.
The Instinct Crossover AMOLED maintains a similar bulky design to the Instinct 3, but it is slightly heavier (67g) and thicker (15mm). Despite this, it offers an impressive 14 days of battery life per charge, a significant decrease from the original Crossover's 28 days or 70 days with a solar upgrade.
For those seeking a more tactical option, Garmin has also launched a Tactical Edition of the Instinct Crossover AMOLED, priced at $749. This edition is designed for military applications.
The Instinct Crossover AMOLED, like its predecessor and the Instinct 3, boasts military-grade ruggedness, a 10ATM resistance, MIL-STD protection, a built-in flashlight, and shares features such as multi-band GPS with SatIQ mode, white & red LED flashlights, 4th-Gen Elevate sensors, and identical training tools.
With its combination of style, functionality, and durability, the Instinct Crossover AMOLED is set to appeal to a wide range of users, from outdoor enthusiasts to fashion-conscious individuals.
