London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Launches Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI) Platform for Private Funds

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has taken a significant stride forward in the digital transformation of financial markets with the launch of its Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI) platform. The platform, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, is designed to support customers across the full funding continuum, including private funds.

The onboarding of clients and the facilitation of the first transaction are crucial milestones for the DMI platform. MembersCap, a capital management firm, and Archax, a FCA-regulated crypto exchange based in London, have been admitted as the first clients. EJF Capital, an early adopter of the DMI platform, will soon have its funds available on the platform. The first transaction on the DMI platform was facilitated with MembersCap.

Dr. Darko Hajdukovic, Head of Digital Markets Infrastructure at LSEG, expressed the goal of improving access to private markets. He stated, "We aim to streamline workflows, enhance distribution, and enable liquidity in private markets."

The DMI platform is built on Microsoft Azure, enhancing its scalability and resilience. It delivers blockchain-powered scale and efficiencies for the full asset lifecycle. The platform is interoperable with current market solutions in distributed ledger technology as well as traditional finance.

LSEG intends to work with all stakeholders to enhance efficiencies and connectivity for both digitally-native and traditional assets. The group will utilize a range of its products and services, including Workspace, on the DMI platform. Private funds admitted to DMI are discoverable by Workspace's users in their day-to-day workflow.

LSEG's DMI platform is poised to revolutionize the private fund industry, with expansion to other asset classes planned for the future. Bill Borden, Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Financial Services at Microsoft, affirmed the innovation driving the collaboration with LSEG on the DMI platform, stating, "We are excited to be a part of this transformative journey with LSEG."

With the launch of the DMI platform, LSEG aims to be the first global exchange group to support customers across the full funding continuum, connecting both digitally-native and traditional assets. The platform is set to bring significant benefits to the financial industry, streamlining workflows, enhancing distribution, and enabling liquidity in private markets.
