Li Auto, one of China's leading extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) manufacturers, is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Li i6, an all-electric SUV model. The official unveiling is scheduled for September, following the company's earlier announcement of filing for a 5-seat electric SUV in regulatory filings.

The Li i6, a two-row, five-seat family pure-electric SUV, boasts an impressive wheelbase of 3,000 mm and measurements of 4,950 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height. It is set to rival other SUVs in the market with its competitive dimensions.

Powering the Li i6 is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, supplied by CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) and Sunwoda. The battery pack has a capacity of just over 87 kWh, supporting fast charging and offering a range of up to 720 kilometers (447 miles) depending on the version.

The Li i6 offers both single-motor and dual-motor variants, ensuring a wide range of options for potential buyers. Production facilities include Li Auto's factory in Beijing and a factory in Changzhou, Jiangsu province.

In addition to the Li i6, Li Auto is also preparing for the launch of its first pure electric SUV model, the 6-seat Li i8, which is set to be unveiled on July 29. Pre-orders for the Li i8 will begin on July 17.

The Li i6 is the latest addition to Li Auto's growing lineup of electric vehicles. The company's first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the Li Mega MPV, was launched on March 1, 2024. The Li i6, along with the Li i8, is included in a list of new energy vehicle models eligible for vehicle purchase tax exemptions by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

As Li Auto continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings, it is positioning itself as a key player in China's electric vehicle market. With the Li i6's impressive specifications and competitive pricing, it is poised to attract a wide range of buyers looking for a long-range electric SUV.
