Leaked Pixel 10 model designs surface on the Play Store prior to official unveiling by Google
Google's much-anticipated Pixel 10 series is set to launch on August 20, 2025, bringing several exciting features to the table. The series, which includes four models — Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold — promises to deliver a blend of power, display, and camera capabilities.
The Pixel 10 series is expected to be powered by Google's own Tensor G5 chip, manufactured by TSMC on a second-generation 3nm process. This in-house chip is designed to offer better performance and efficiency compared to its 4nm predecessors.
The Pixel 10 model will feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an upgraded peak brightness of about 3000 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both the front and back. In terms of memory and storage, the Pixel 10 will come with 12GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options, likely in 128GB and 256GB variants. The device is also expected to be backed by a 4,970mAh battery, with charging support up to 29W wired and 15W wireless.
The Pixel 10's camera setup includes a dual rear camera system. The primary sensor is a downgraded 48MP (1/2.0-inch) sensor, a reduction from the Pixel 9’s 50 MP larger sensor. The ultrawide camera has been reduced to 12 MP, but this change allows for the addition of a telephoto lens to the base model for the first time, enabling macro photography. The Pixel 10 will also have a single front-facing selfie camera.
The Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold models are rumoured to have similar specifications, with some differences. The Pixel 10 Pro might have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL could feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to have a 7.8-inch foldable inner display.
The Pixel 10 Pro might be powered by the Tensor G5 chip, and it could include up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is expected to have a 5,300mAh battery, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be backed by a 4,800mAh battery. The front camera of the Pixel 10 Pro might get a big upgrade to 48MP.
In a special launch offer, purchases made before October 13 will receive a $50 discount. The Pixel 10 will be available in bright blue, while the other three models will be in a sleek grey shade. It's worth noting that the Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold models are not mentioned to have specific color options in the hidden banner.
Android Authority claims they discovered the hidden banner on the Google Play Store by using some tricks, revealing the upcoming Pixel phones nearly a month before their official launch. Google will officially unveil the Pixel 10 series at its Made by Google event on August 20.
This mixed bag of upgrades, downgrades, and trade-offs indicates Google's focus on particular features like AI and imaging flexibility over raw sensor resolution. The Pixel 10 series promises to deliver a balance of power, display, and camera capabilities, making it an exciting addition to the tech world.
The forthcoming Pixel 10 series, including smartphones like the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, are set to offer exceptional combinations of technology, power, and smartphone features. The gadgets are anticipated to deliver impressive performance and efficiency, thanks to Google's in-house Tensor G5 chip.
