Kraiburg Rubber Unveils Advanced Elastomer Blends for Hydrogen Systems at Expo
Kraiburg Rubber has developed a range of advanced elastomer blends specifically designed for use in hydrogen-carrying systems, particularly in electrolysis units. These compounds will be showcased at the upcoming Hydrogen Technology World Expo.
The new material blends are suitable for use in various electrolysis units, including PEM, alkaline, and AEM. They have been optimized for mass production and meet stringent requirements for permeation tightness, media resistance, and thermochemical stability.
Kraiburg Rubber has also focused on reducing ion leaching, particularly metal ions that can damage membranes and catalysts. These blends have low hydrogen permeability and maintain their resilience throughout their lifespan. They are designed to operate under dynamic conditions and in strongly acidic or alkaline environments. The company has developed special blends for use in frame, cell, and end plate seals.
Independent testing by BAM, TÜV, and DVGW has confirmed the resistance of these blends to explosive decompression, making them suitable for safety-critical applications. They can also be used in peripheral components such as gas distributors, cooling loops, hose and piping systems, and housing elements.
Kraiburg Rubber's elastomer blends are set to make a significant impact in the hydrogen industry. Visitors to the Hydrogen Technology World Expo can learn more about these innovative products in Hall B7, Stand 7C71.
