Kassenkompass Secures €300k Investment from Carsten Maschmeyer
Fiona Jasmut and Ole Walkenhorst's startup, Kassenkompass, has received a 300,000 euro investment from Carsten Maschmeyer. The digital platform helps Germans switch and compare statutory health insurers, earning money through commissions per switch. Despite initial concerns from Frank Thelen about competition, Maschmeyer praised Kassenkompass for its clarity and potential.
Kassenkompass, launched by Jasmut and Walkenhorst, determines the best health insurance based on users' answers to questions. By the time of their appearance on 'Die Höhle der Löwen', the startup had made 140,000 euros in revenue, with projections to reach 560,000 euros in 2022 and surpass the million-euro mark later. Maschmeyer's investment halved the company's valuation from 3 million to 1.5 million euros, giving him a 20% stake.
The founders initially sought 300,000 euros for a 10% stake, valuing the company at 3 million euros. Judith Williams found this valuation too high, while Ralf Dümmel couldn't offer help due to lack of expertise. Despite these setbacks, Maschmeyer's investment and collaboration with Maxpool have boosted Kassenkompass's prospects.
Kassenkompass, with its innovative approach to health insurance comparison, has secured a significant investment from Carsten Maschmeyer. The startup's potential to disrupt the market and bring clarity to customers has been recognised, with expectations for substantial growth in the coming years.
