Iron Fist actor Finn Jones voices desire for a Marvel Cinematic Universe return
In the current Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there's chatter about bringing back some old superheroes, fueled by nostalgia and the multiverse saga. A prime example of this is Finn Jones, who played Iron Fist, expressing his desire to step back into Danny Rand's yellow cowl. During a chat with Dutch outlet, The Nerd Shepard, at Heroes Dutch Comic-Con, the actor shared his eagerness to continue growing with Iron Fist, rather than asking for a third season of the show. Instead, he's set his sights on a dynamic duo situation with Mike Colter's Luke Cage.
The rapport between these two characters was solid in Defenders, and Jones believes a Heroes for Hire TV series would be the smart move. "I'd love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again," he said, adding that there's plenty of great stories waiting to be told with these characters. The comics do feature a youthful Iron Fist named Lin Lie since 2022, but that's a minor hurdle if Marvel Studios decides to bring Jones and Colter back to recreate their comics camaraderie on screen.
While it's not confirmed, Marvel's head of streaming, television, and animation, Brad Winderbaum, has hinted at discussions about the return of the Netflix-era Defenders, including Jessica Jones, into the MCU. However, these decisions factor in actor availability, production costs, and creative direction. Fans have suggested that the Iron Fist role could be recast if necessary, as per the comics. All in all, the possibility of a Heroes for Hire series still tantalizes fans of these gritty heroes.
