Ecocem's Director of Concrete Technology Deployment, John Reddy, has assumed the position of President for the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT), a global organization dedicated to concrete technologists and engineers.

Irish presidential figure, Reddy, assumed the head position at the Institute of Concrete Technology, becoming the institute's inaugural Irish president.

John Reddy, a key figure at Ecocem, a pioneering company specializing in low-carbon cement solutions, has been appointed as the new President of the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT), an international organization for concrete technologists and engineers. This marks the first time an Irish individual holds this prominent role, with a tenure lasting two years. Reddy had served as the Vice President of ICT since 2023.

Veronika Elfmarkova will assume the role of Vice President, with plans to become the ICT's first female President in 2027. As Head of Commercial RMX at Holcim, Elfmarkova works at the company's headquarters in Switzerland.

In a statement, Reddy expressed his excitement about the timely nature of his new role, citing increasing demand for concrete in terms of performance, volume, and Net Zero ambitions. He expressed his eagerness to enhance ICT's international reputation and support the growth of concrete technologists in delivering sustainable concrete solutions.

The 53rd Annual Convention Symposium of ICT is currently underway at the Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, marking the first time the event is being held outside of the UK. The theme of this year's event is "The Pursuit of Net Zero Concrete: Materials, Design, and Practical Applications." attending industry professionals and academics from Ireland and the UK.

As Director of Concrete Technology Deployment at Ecocem, Reddy is instrumental in driving the implementation of Ecocem's groundbreaking technology, ACT (Advanced Cement Technology), which can reduce cement production's carbon footprint by up to 70% on a global scale. Last week, Ecocem announced an additional €170 million investment to build four new production lines in France and expedite the delivery of ACT to the market.

The enrichment data suggests that Reddy has been instrumental in advancing Ecocem's mission by leading engagement with industry partners and stakeholders, participating in high-profile discussions about the future of sustainable construction, and contributing to collaborative research and innovation efforts in the green cement movement. His work with ACT technology plays a central role in Ecocem's strategy for delivering high-performance, low-carbon cement solutions to the global market.

Science and technology are integral components of John Reddy's role as the new President of the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT). With a focus on reducing cement production's carbon footprint by up to 70% through Ecocem's groundbreaking technology, ACT, Reddy drives research, innovation, and collaboration in the green cement movement.
